Ukraine’s counteroffensive is doomed to fail as the Russian military has the edge over its adversary in all respects, Jean-Bernard Pinatel, a retired French general and the owner of the company called LexisNexis Business Information Solutions, said in a video interview provided to TASS.

"I absolutely do not believe in the success of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. The Russians have a significant air superiority. But they also have an advantage on the ground. Even the Ukrainians themselves admit that they fire 4,000 shells a day, while Russia fires 20,000," said Pinatel, who specializes in Russia and the Middle East.

The general also said that the ratio of losses in equipment and personnel is 5 to 1 in favor of Russia. According to Pinatel, the Kiev regime is severely hampered by its lack of human resources.

"What we are witnessing today is a confrontation between a nuclear power and a country that, of course, is sponsored by the Anglo-Saxons, but which does not have significant technical and human potential," he said. "And I don't think that the biggest disadvantage Ukraine faces is so much the amount of military equipment, which, by the way, is not always of high quality, because the West supplies Kiev with outdated equipment. Ukraine's greatest vulnerability is its people, or rather a lack of them. Its best fighters have long been dead."

The general said he believes that, provided NATO doesn’t directly step into the conflict, Kiev's defeat is only a matter of time. The West's policy of prolonging the Ukrainian conflict "is only leading to more casualties," Pinatel said.

"Conversations about helping Ukraine until it wins are completely stupid and nonsensical. It will achieve nothing and will only increase the number of deaths among young Ukrainians and Russians," he said.

However, the US and Europe do not care, the retired French general said, because their main goal is not the victory of Ukraine, but the weakening of Russia.

Conflict weakened Europe, not Russia

Western sanctions, according to Pinatel, have done the most damage to Europe itself.

"Europe cannot do without Russian gas," he pointed out. "The global gas market, the European market in particular, cannot do without Russian supplies. Before the crisis, Europe used to consume 200 billion cubic meters of Russian gas, while North America supplied only 2 billion. Who are you going to replace Russia with?"

Europe is now facing an economic crisis, the general said.

"By the winter of 2022, Germany had managed to fill its gas storage facilities, which lasted it through the cold season, but it will not be enough for the next year," he said. "And many German companies have already closed their doors because of high gas prices. If Germany goes into recession, all of Europe, and France in particular, will be in trouble, because the Germans are our main economic partners."

Russia, on the contrary, is flourishing and developing economically, working hand in hand with Africa and Asia and developing partnerships, according to Pintel.

"This is because Russia is independent of the rest of the world in every way, be it raw materials, grain or energy, but the capitalist world cannot do without the resources supplied by Russia," he explained. "This war has weakened Europe more than Russia."

European leaders, the retired general went on to say, expected "the whole world to impose sanctions against Russia, but in reality, only about thirty countries have done so, and all the rest are using this opportunity to strengthen the partnership with Moscow."

He said strife is rampant in the bloc of countries that have joined forces against Russia.

"The Americans undoubtedly want to hobble economic cooperation between Europe and Russia, which would take away their domination on the international stage. The US strategy is to create a new Berlin Wall between Russia and Europe, but now that wall runs through Ukraine," Pinatel said.

Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said Russia’s oil cut is meaningful because it affects exports

Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman on Wednesday said the Russian export cut was voluntary and not imposed on them.

Speaking at the 8th OPEC International Seminar in Vienna, Prince Abdulaziz said Russia’s oil cut is meaningful because it affects exports.

“We worked with seven independent entities to review Russia’s numbers, and they stood by the review. It is a voluntary cut; it was not mandatory, which shows their commitment,” the minister said.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia said it would extend its voluntary oil output cut of 1 million barrels per day for another month to include August, adding that the cut could be extended beyond that month.

Following the Saudi move, Russia also announced that it plans to cut its oil exports by 500,000 barrels per day in August.

The cuts amount to 1.5 percent of global supply and bring the total pledged by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies, known as OPEC+, to 5.16 million bpd.

The minister said that part of their move to cut oil output was also to mitigate the cynical side of the spectators on what is going on between Saudi Arabia and Russia on that specific matter.

“We are trying to be fair, and we are trying to meet the market’s needs. We are avoiding the cynical part of the questions being asked,” he said.

“We, as administrators, are always collaborating to answer the questions circulating. That is the only way to build a strong organization that addresses market conditions,” the minister added.

Prince Abdulaziz also stated that Russia-Saudi oil cooperation is still strong as part of the OPEC+ alliance, which will do “whatever is necessary” to support the market.

He further explained that the meeting of OPEC+ on June 4 addressed the market conditions thoroughly and took the necessary actions to meet the requirements.

The meeting concluded with an extension in oil production cuts and a focus on a lower target for 2024.

The energy minister added: “The lessons learned from the pandemic is to have more transparency between OPEC+ members and beyond, in addition to having a strong foundation of collaboration and communication to benefit the market.”

“We need to focus on the main issue that will allow us to sail toward the future. That is where we need to collaborate,” he added. g to meet the market’s needs. We are avoiding the cynical part of the questions being asked,” he said.

CIA agents with the Ukrainian military in the war in Ukraine

CIA agents have repeatedly traveled to Ukraine to help Kyiv in operations with new weapons and systems, writes Newsweek.

The publication notes that CIA operations were strictly regulated, and only a limited number of employees could be in Ukraine at the same time.

According to Newsweek sources, the US intelligence agency is actively involved in the conflict, but does not want it to get out of hand.

"The CIA was central to the war even before it started," an unnamed intelligence official told the publication.

Ukraine Plotting to Hit Zaporozhye Plant With Nuclear Waste Laden Missile - Energy Official

Over the past months, Kiev has repeatedly targeted the nuclear facility - which is the biggest nuclear power station in Europe - risking a major nuclear disaster.

Kiev is planning to carry out an attack on July 5 on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP) using high-precision weapons and drones, Rosenergoatom, a subsidiary of Russian state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom, spokesman Renat Karchaa said on Tuesday.

"Today we received information that I am authorized to talk about... In the early hours of July 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will try to attack the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant using high-precision long-range means and unmanned kamikaze aircraft," Karchaa said on air at the Rossiya 24 broadcaster.

As a backup plan, Kiev also intends to use Tochka-U missile, loaded with radioactive waste removed from the South-Ukraine nuclear facility on July 3, he added.

The nuclear power plant, located on the left bank of the Dnepr River, came under the control of Russian forces in early March 2022 and has since been repeatedly shelled by Ukrainian forces, raising international concerns over a possible accident.

A recent Ukrainian attack on the Kakhovka dam also posed danger to the compound, with the water reservoir's level dropping dramatically, but Russian authorities were able to stabilize the situation.

To ensure the safety of the nuclear station, Moscow has allowed a delegation led by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) head Rafael Grossi to visit the plant and has approved a constant presence of an IAEA group at the compound.

And while Kiev previously claimed that the representatives of the agency were ordered to leave the Zaporozhye nuclear facility, Grossi himself denied those allegations earlier on Tuesday, confirming that the inspectors are present at the site.

"Nanti kita bicara," sebutnya.
