Ukrainian Military Casualties Amount to 330 in Donetsk Direction

The Ukrainian armed forces have lost up to 330 soldiers as killed and injured in the Donetsk direction in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

"The total losses of the armed forces of Ukraine in this direction per day amounted to 330 military personnel as killed and injured, a tank, 11 armored personnel carriers, four armored combat vehicles, three cars. During the counter-battery fight, two Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery mounts, and a D-howitzer were destroyed," the ministry said in a statement, adding that Ukraine lost up to 155 soldiers in the South Donetsk direction.

The ministry also stressed that Russian forces repelled 10 Ukrainian counterattacks in the Kupyansk direction, where Kiev’s military casualties amounted to 280 in the past day.

Russia's Su-34 fighter-bomber jets execute missions in the special operation zone, aimed at weakening Ukraine's offensive capabilities. The aircraft is able to carry a wide range of weapons, including a 30mm gun, bombs, guided and unguided missiles and put them to good use.

The Russian Defense Ministry published footage of Su-34 fighter-bombers launching airstrikes on Ukrainian armored vehicles, manpower, and military facilities.

Equipped with advanced avionics, the Su-34 jet is able to both strike ground targets and battle enemy aircraft. However, the Kiev regime's fleet of aircraft is steadily being rubbed out, while the long-anticipated F-16 jets, which are expected to be supplied to Ukraine, will be flying targets for the Russian military.

Russian Forces Wipe Out Ukrainian Sabotage Group Near Kherson

Russia's military located and destroyed one of Ukraine’s sabotage and reconnaissance group along with its electronic warfare station in the Kherson region.

Russian Coastal Defense Brigade soldiers on duty in the Kherson islands region (Dnepr river delta), identified and neutralized a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group set up on an abandoned vessel that was equipped with electronic warfare (EW) devices, the commander of the Motorized Rifle Platoon Brigade with a call sign 'Shaman' said.

According to him, the Russian soldiers had noticed some communication issues when the "birdies" of the unit began to redirect the signal, suppressing the connection altogether.

Russian gunners wipe out Ukrainian stronghold, mortar team in Krasny Liman area

Artillery squads of Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) from Russia’s Central Military District destroyed a stronghold and mortar positions of the Ukrainian army in the Krasny Liman area, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

"While on their combat duty, the teams of BM-21 Grad MLRS received coordinates from artillery spotters of an uncovered enemy stronghold and a mortar team. After arriving at firing positions, the artillery squads readied the rocket launchers and delivered a strike by 122mm rockets against a stronghold. After changing their positions, the gunners delivered a second strike against the mortar sites of a team of Ukrainian nationalists," the ministry said in a statement.

After fulfilling the objectives of striking the enemy targets, the artillery squads conducted a counter-fire maneuver and left the firing positions, it said.

"The smooth work of rocket artillery and unmanned aircraft of the Central Military District makes it possible to promptly strike reconnoitered targets and provide support to assault teams of battlegroups in their active defense within the area of their responsibility," the ministry added.

Grad MLRS

The Grad is a Soviet and Russian-made 122mm multiple launch rocket system designed to strike enemy mechanized infantry and infantry units in amassment areas, during marches and in combat formations, and also artillery and mortar batteries, air defense forces and rear facilities.

The Grad MLRS can strike targets at a range of 40 km, operates 40 launch tubes and makes a full salvo within 20 seconds.

When I came to Donbass in December, 2014, I came here on a one way ticket with a 30 day visa and no intention of going back.

I did not come here to make money or to make a name for myself or to become an "internet star". I came here to fight, to kill the neo-Nazis who were murdering innocent and unarmed Donbass civilians, to defend those civilians, and to stand beside the true Heroes who put their lives on the line to defend Donbass, Russia and the future of humanity. And that is what I have done.

I arrived at my first combat position near the Donetsk airport at dawn on the morning of December 31, 2014. My visa ran out at midnight that night. There was no turning back, no way out, nor was I looking for one. When I came here, I did not really expect to live to see the spring, but I did, and almost ten years later, I'm still here, and I'm still fighting, but now in the information war, which is every bit as crucial as the military and economic wars are. These days, a camera and computer are my weapons, and facts and words are my bullets. As a soldier, I could reach 400 meters with my AK, and 900 meters with an RPG. As an information warrior, my words have gone around the world.

I served in combat in the DPR Army through most of 2015 in the VOSTOK and XAH Spetsnaz Battalion, and for four months in the summer of 2017 with the DPR MVD. For the rest of the last nine, almost ten years now, I have worked as an information warrior and human aid volunteer, supporting the citizens and defenders of the Donbass Republics. That's been my self-chosen job, and for all these years, other than being paid for my time as a soldier, I have never been paid by the DPR or Russian Federation. I have supported myself and my wife through contributions from supporters around the world, but mostly from the West. Since the SMO began in 2022, it has been almost impossible to transfer funds from the West into Russia. The last year and a half or so have been very hard times for us financially, so thank God (and whoever else was involved) that Sputnik International News has offered me a job, to be their eyes and ears on the ground in Donbass. And I am very glad to do it.

Some of my friends and colleagues have warned me that by taking a job with Russian media, I will jeopardize my "impartiality", my "objectivity", and my ability to offer a "balanced view" of the war in Ukraine. I will no longer be an "independent journalist". I could not care less about any of that. What kind of "balanced view" is needed between good and evil, between mass murdering war criminals and innocent civilians? What obligation do I (or anyone else) have to give equal time to an openly Nazi perspective, as if it weren't already mass-produced by Western governments and media, flooding the world on a daily basis for the last decade or more already? I do not do this job for the money. I have been independent since I got here, and remain so, whether I get paid or not. I say what I think and write what I want, I speak the truth, regardless of who likes it or not. That I speak my mind is a well-known fact, as many have attested, and not always in the most complimentary terms. So be it.

Unlike almost all of the foreign war correspondents reporting from Donbass, I am not foreign. I am a citizen of Russia and the DPR, I live here, I am defending my own home and my family here, I'm not going anywhere, I will live and die here. And when it comes to defending my home, I have done more than just talk. I am not a "war correspondent", I am a warrior correspondent. And proud of it. Being a war correspondent is an honorable vocation. To tell the truth from a war zone, especially when that truth goes against the dominant paradigm and the popular fiction, takes courage, determination and integrity. And most of the war correspondents in Donbass on our side of this war have these qualities. I have the greatest respect for those who do.

I have been called a "Russian propagandist" and "Putin's troll" since I first started speaking out against the Maidan coup and the neo-Nazis who instigated it, and whether I get paid or not, my enemies and detractors will not stop now. But to those who trust and support me, I make a solemn vow - the truth is our most powerful weapon, and I will defend it with my honor and with my life if need be. Respect for the truth is the basis of all morality, there is no amount of money that anyone could pay me to betray it. Deception is a powerful weapon. The only weapon that can defeat it is the truth, so that is the weapon that I will use, that we will use, together, to bring down the Empire of Lies.

I do not claim, nor do I intend, to be impartial. This war is not simply Russia against Ukraine, or NATO against Russia, this is a war of genuine evil against the future of humanity, and I have chosen my side. I will fight with every weapon that God and humanity will allow, but I will never use the weapon of deception against my comrades or myself. Out of military necessity and because of security concerns, I cannot and will not always reveal everything I know, but you can rest assured that everything I do write or say will be the truth, as far as I know it. I'd rather be an honest man on the side of God, Russia and humanity, than an independent journalist any day. And that is what I am, and will continue to be. See ya on the frontlines. Davai!

MMA star Khabib posts support for Palestinians

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the Russian former MMA fighter who was the first Muslim to win a UFC title, has shared a message of support for the Palestinian people amid the fighting in the Middle East.

On Monday, the Dagestan-born former lightweight champion shared a post with his 35 million Instagram followers that featured a prayer for Allah to defend those who cannot defend themselves. The message included emojis of raised open palms – a gesture of supplication in Islam – the Palestinian flag and a heart, but no other content.

Fellow Russian MMA star Khamzat Chimaev, who was born in the Chechen Republic and is based in Sweden, has also reportedly posted a graphics-only message of support. His picture, as shared by Russian media, included the outline of the land of Palestine, with the Palestinian flag and a drawing of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Old Jerusalem.

Israel is retaliating for the deadly incursion and hostage-taking raid conducted last weekend by the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Its military has fully blockaded Gaza, where the organization’s power base is located, denying its two million residents access to electricity or water. The stated Israeli goal is to fully destroy Hamas “terrorist infrastructure” in the area.

Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya and an influential figure in the Russian Muslim community, has urged pressure on Israel, so that it exercises restraint.

“Create a coalition and call on those who you call friends, Europe and the entire world, so that [the Israelis] do not bomb peaceful citizens under the pretext of destroying the militants,” he said on Monday, addressing the heads of Muslim nations.

The conflict stands out among other flare-ups in the region, because it can “turn into something bigger,” Kadyrov warned.

The Russian government has condemned violence against civilians regardless of who perpetrates it. President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday the crisis was evidence of failed diplomacy by the US. He argued that Washington was never concerned with the core interests of the Palestinian people.

Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israeli territory, firing a barrage of rockets and catching the IDF (Israeli Army) of guard. Israeli government launched operation Swords of Iron and invoked Article 40 of the Basic Law which de-facto implies a declaration of war.

Palestinian Hamas movement has achieved the goals of its operation in Israel and now it is open to any discussions, a member of the movement's political bureau, Mousa Abu Marzouq, said on Tuesday. "We have achieved our goals ... We are open to any discussions and political dialogue," Abu Marzouq told regional broadcaster, adding that the movement is "not closed to negotiations."

Russia has called for a ceasefire and immediate peace talks, while stressing that the roots of the conflict must be understood.

According to the latest available data, the death toll from hostilities has risen to over 700 among Palestinians and roughly 1100 Israelis, with thousands of wounded from both sides.

Al-Rimal, Gaza's Most Prestigious Area, Devasted After Strike

Israeli airstrikes on Monday destroyed large parts of the Al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City, leading to large internet and communications outages.

Israeli warplanes destroyed a number of buildings, including residential ones, flattening them to the ground, said an Anadolu correspondent.

The reporter said the fighter jets destroyed a Palestinian Telecommunications Company building, causing a widespread outage of communications and the internet.

Al-Shifa Medical Complex was also damaged in the airstrikes.

The intense airstrikes followed a statement by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in which he directed the army to intensify attacks on Gaza, according to Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth.

Gaza-based resistance group Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel early Saturday, firing a barrage of rockets. It said the surprise attack was in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and increased settler violence.

Cyprus to Accommodate Evacuees from Israel

Cyprus has decided to make its territory available to foreign citizens evacuated from Israel, putting in place a special national plan, dubbed ESTIA, activated in case of emergency or crisis, the Cypriot Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

In light of the current security situation in Israel, Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos convened a meeting of the Ministerial Crisis Management Team on Tuesday that decided to "activate the Special National Plan ESTIA for the reception and repatriation of foreign citizens from an area in crisis, through the territory of the Republic of Cyprus," the ministry said in a statement.

Dozens of people with dual citizenship, including Russians, held hostage by Hamas

Dozens of Israelis with dual citizenship, including Russians and Chinese, are being held hostage by the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, the movement's spokesman Moussa Abu Marzouk told the Al Jazeera TV channel.

In response to a question about Hamas' willingness to discuss a ceasefire, he also said that Hamas is open to "all political dialogues."

Earlier, Al TV quoted the Palestinian movement as saying that Hamas had taken "dozens of people with dual citizenship" as hostages; the movement's spokesman did not specify which countries the Israelis captured by Hamas hold dual citizenship in.

Tensions in the Middle East escalated on October 7 with an attack by Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip on Israeli territory. According to the latest official figures, nearly 700 Palestinians were killed and over 3,700 wounded in clashes and shelling, while about 800 Israelis were killed and over 2,000 wounded.

Hamas said the attack was in retaliation for Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem's Temple Mount. Israel has declared a state of war and a total blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Lavrov views latest NATO drills as unprecedented since Cold War era

The United States’ recent joint drills with NATO allies became unprecedented since the end of the Cold War era, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in his article on respecting the principles of the UN Charter.

"The series of joint drills held recently by the United States and its NATO allies in Europe, that included scenarios of the use of nuclear weapons against Russia, was unprecedented," Lavrov emphasized. He accused "irresponsible politicians" of being obsessed with their own impunity amid what he said was a total lack of the basic sense of self-preservation as they declared the task of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia.

Russia’s top diplomat recalled that Western leaders’ assurances that NATO would not expand eastward proved to be a deceit.

Lavrov highlights need to immediately end Israeli-Palestinian fighting

There is a need to end the Israeli-Palestinian fighting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

"Apart from ending the fighting and solving the problem of numerous civilian casualties that are being recorded, there is also a need to pay special attention to the reasons why it has been impossible to resolve the Palestinian issue for decades," the top Russian diplomat noted.

"We planned to discuss all aspects of our cooperation today, including the upcoming ministerial meetings between Russia and Arab League members, but the current rise in Israeli-Palestinian tensions, which has once again proved that the existing status quo in the conflict zone is no longer viable, required some changes in the agenda," Lavrov added.

Israeli-Palestinian escalation

Israel came under missile attack from the Gaza Strip on the morning of October 7. Simultaneously, several groups of militants infiltrated the Jewish state, engaging in fighting with Israeli forces.

The Israeli army declared a state of readiness for war and launched retaliatory actions dubbed Operation Iron Swords. Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas, described the Palestinian operation as a response to aggressive actions by the Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant authorized the callup of reservists and ordered that "the special security situation" be expanded nationwide. According to the latest data, about 500 Palestinians have been killed since the outbreak of renewed tensions, while 2,700 have suffered wounds. In Israel, more than 700 people have lost their lives and over 2,200 have been wounded.
