Watch Russian Forces Destroy Western-Made Ukrainian Armored Vehicle With Kamikaze Drone

In the evolving landscape of modern warfare, Russian soldiers continue to demonstrate tactical superiority, recently showcasing their prowess by destroying another Western-made self-propelled artillery unit of the Ukrainian forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of a Russian loitering munition dismantling a NATO-gifted self-propelled artillery unit of the Ukrainian troops.

These unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have revolutionized warfare, introducing new dynamics that demand rapid adaptation in combat strategies.

Since the launch of the special operation, the effectiveness of Russian forces in utilizing this advanced technology has been evident. The strategic deployment of loitering munitions has enabled the Russian military to target and eliminate not only Ukrainian manpower, but also NATO-supplied weapons, ammunition depots, and various strategic assets.

Among the arsenal of sophisticated drones, the Russian Lancet kamikaze drone stands out. This cutting-edge loitering munition is renowned for its precision, lethality, and flexibility in combat scenarios. With its ability to strike with pinpoint accuracy, the Lancet is a formidable tool in the Russian military's efforts to neutralize key targets effectively, while minimizing collateral damage.

Watch Russian Paratroopers Obliterate Ukrainian Observation Point Near Artemovsk

In a determined attack, the Russian Guards Airborne Regiment from Kostroma successfully executed a high-precision operation in the Artemovsk area using BMD-2K-AU airborne infantry fighting vehicles.

The Defense Ministry published footage of Russian servicemen closing in on Ukrainian positions, engaging in direct fire combat, and destroying the enemy.

At a critical distance of just 500 meters, Russian troops skillfully utilized short bursts of fire, and launched a 9K111 Fagot (also known as the bassoon) anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). In addition, the Russian soldiers used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in adjusting fire, exemplifying the advanced technological capabilities of Moscow's forces. By utilizing those drones, the accuracy of their strikes was enhanced, resulting in minimal casualties, while ensuring maximum effectiveness and at the same time protecting the lives of Russian soldiers.

The city of Artemovsk, as well as its surroundings, is a strategic location which was liberated by Russian troops in May this year. Russian paratroopers have played a pivotal role in maintaining control of this city, contributing to the stability of the area

Watch Russian Forces Take Ukrainian Positions Around Rabotino

In a swift attack on Ukrainian positions in the Rabotino settlement area, the Russian fighters demonstrated their military prowess by neutralizing an enemy stronghold amidst the forested terrain in the Zaporozhye region.

The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of its troops taking Ukrainian positions and capturing several enemy soldiers.

This successful mission underscores the vital role of advanced technology in modern warfare, particularly the use of attack drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The Russian forces, demonstrating superior tactics and technological edge, employed these drones to efficiently identify and suppress enemy firing points before launching an assault on the Ukrainian stronghold.

The precision and effectiveness of UAVs have become a game changer in the Ukrainian conflict, enabling Russian forces to execute operations with minimal risk and maximum efficacy. Not only do drones ensure the safety of Russian servicemen, but also minimize collateral damage.

Following reports of mass desertions and severe morale drop, Ukrainian soldiers have been increasingly surrendering to the Russian troops in recent months. The Ukrainian soldiers decide more and more often to avoid dying for Zelensky's corrupt regime in a NATO proxy conflict.

Watch Russian Howitzer Unleash Its Firepower in Special Op

Howitzers are artillery weapons that bridge the gap between cannons and mortars. They are capable of conducting both high-angle and low-angle fire over long distances, playing a pivotal role in artillery formations.

The Russian Ministry of Defense published footage that shows a 122-mm howitzer D-30 unit in action in the Kupyansk direction of the special military operation zone. The troops use highly explosive fragmentation shells, which disperse shards across the area, effectively eliminating enemy manpower.

The servicemen execute firing from concealed positions, utilizing reconnaissance drones to aid in target adjustment.

Israeli air strikes hit Gaza's biggest hospital, the Al Shifa, on Friday, killing one person and wounding others sheltering there, Palestinian officials said, one of several hospitals reported struck as Israeli troops battled Hamas in the heart of the enclave.

Officials said other strikes had damaged parts of the Indonesian Hospital and reportedly set fire to the Rantissi paediatric and cancer hospital in the northern part of Gaza, where Israel says Hamas militants who attacked it last month are concentrated.

Israeli tanks, which have been advancing through northern Gaza for almost two weeks, have taken up positions around the Rantissi, Al-Quds and Nasser Children's hospitals, raising concern for patients, doctors and evacuees there, medical staff said.

"Israel is now launching a war on Gaza City hospitals," Mohammad Abu Selmeyah, director of Gaza's main Shifa hospital, told Reuters.

Israel did not immediately comment but says it does not target civilians and goes to great lengths to avoid hitting them. It says Hamas militants have hidden command centres and tunnels beneath Shifa and other hospitals, allegations which Hamas denies.

"While the world sees neighbourhoods with schools, hospitals, scout groups, children's playgrounds and mosques, Hamas sees an opportunity to exploit," the Israeli military said.

With Palestinian officials reporting more than 10,000 dead, Israel has faced growing calls for restraint in its month-old war on Hamas but says the militants, whose Oct. 7 attack made all Israelis fear for their lives, would just exploit any pause.

The armed wing of Hamas said on Friday it was still firing rockets and shells into Israel and fighting off troops in Gaza.

Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas to alert people to Hamas rocket fire. Medics reported two women in Tel Aviv suffered shrapnel wounds from a salvo.

Even before the conflict closed in on them, the enclave's hospitals were struggling to cope, with medical supplies, clean water and fuel to power generators running out and surgery being done without anaesthetics.

Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra said Israel had bombed Shifa hospital buildings five times since Thursday night.

"They shelled the maternity department and the outpatient clinics building. One Palestinian was killed and several were wounded in the early morning attack," he said.

In the wake of the blasts, witnesses said many people were starting to leave the grounds of the facility fearing further strikes.

Israel has warned people to evacuate but Qidra said that was impossible.

"We are talking about 45 babies in incubators, 52 children in intensive care units, hundreds of wounded and patients, and tens of thousands of displaced people," he said.

Palestinian officials said 10,812 Gaza residents had been killed as of Thursday, about 40% of them children, in air and artillery strikes with many others wounded.

Israel says 1,400 people were killed, mostly civilians, and about 240 were taken hostage by Hamas on Oct. 7, while 39 soldiers have been killed in combat since.

AIR STRIKES AT DAWN

Palestinian media showed video footage of the aftermath of the Shifa strike, with people shouting and crying and several figures covered with blood. Reuters confirmed the location as the covered, outdoor area near the outpatient department.

A World Heath Organization spokesperson said she did not have details of Friday's incident but quoted colleagues from the hospital as saying it had been coming under bombardment and there was "intense violence" there.

Palestinian Health Minister Mai Alkaila said an adult was killed and a child was wounded at Shifa, one of several medical facilities hit.

"Israel...targeted at dawn a number of hospitals in the Gaza Strip," her statement said.

The ministry later reported on Telegram that Rantissi hospital was struck by a direct hit and a fire was reported inside the hospital, citing spokesman Qidra. He said earlier that vehicles had been set on fire in the grounds.

WHO also said there was "significant bombardment" on Rantissi hospital, which it has said was only hospital providing paediatric services in north Gaza.

A person who said they were a member of staff of Nasser Children's Hospital posted an appeal on social media saying they were surrounded.

"We are blockaded inside the hospital by tanks, and we are exposed to heavy fire against us. We don't have electricity, no oxygen for patients, no fresh water," it said. The situation here is very difficult and dangerous."

Indonesia said parts of the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza had been damaged in overnight explosions nearby. It did not report any casualties but condemned the blasts without saying who was responsible.

Gaza's health ministry has said 18 of Gaza's 35 hospitals and 40 other health centres were out of service either due to damage from shelling or lack of fuel.

ISRAEL SAYS SHIFA HOSPITAL IS LEGITIMATE TARGET

Any Israeli attempt to seize Shifa would risk heavy civilian losses and could trigger an international outcry.

"With ongoing strikes and fighting nearby (Al Shifa), we are gravely concerned about the well-being of thousands of civilians there, many children among them, seeking medical care and shelter," Human Rights Watch said.

The Israeli military has allowed some wounded Palestinian civilians to cross into Egypt for treatment and has announced daily windows for civilians to flee northern Gaza for the south.

Deadly air strikes on refugee camps, a medical convoy and near hospitals have already prompted arguments among some of Israel's Western allies over its adherence to international law.

U.N. agencies have issued regular calls for a ceasefire, which both sides have rejected.

U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said any use of civilians by Palestinian armed groups to shield themselves would contravene the laws of war but that such conduct did not absolve Israel of its obligation to spare civilians.

Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy said the Hamas headquarters was located in the Shifa's basement, so the hospital would lose its protected status and become a legitimate target.

President Vladimir Putin has held a closed-doors meeting with high-ranking commanders during an unannounced visit to the headquarters of Russia’s Southern Military District, which oversees the military operation against Ukraine.

Putin made a stopover in Rostov-on-Don on his way back from a state visit to Kazakhstan, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters early on Friday morning.

Accompanied by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and the head of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, Putin “inspected new models of military equipment,” Peskov said, without offering details. The Russian leader also spoke with other top defense officials, who briefed him on the progress of the country’s military operation against Kiev.

Several Russian outlets released a video showing Putin disembarking from his plane and arriving at the HQ, where he was greeted by Shoigu and Gerasimov.

The hardware Putin was shown appeared to be a version of a light all-terrain vehicle produced by the Chinese-American manufacturer AODES which was designed for performing reconnaissance.

Rostov Region borders Russia’s frontline Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and has often come under Ukrainian missile and drone attacks in recent months. Putin’s last previous visit and meeting with the top brass at the Rostov-on-Don HQ took place just last month, and, before that, in August and March.

The visit came amid a failed Ukrainian counteroffensive which has dragged on since June, with even Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, Valery Zaluzhny, now admitting that Kiev is unlikely to achieve a swift breakthrough.

According to estimates by Russian officials, Ukraine has lost more than 90,000 troops during its long-heralded counteroffensive alone. Launched in early June, the push has failed to yield tangible gains, resulting only in heavy personnel and material losses, with hundreds of military hardware pieces, including assorted Western-supplied vehicles, damaged or destroyed.

Last week, Putin said that Western powers were “changing their tune now [and] saying different things” compared to their previous insistence on inflicting a military defeat on Russia.

Press review: Putin, Tokayev talk trade in Astana and Israel hell-bent on crippling Hamas

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on an official visit to Astana, where the leaders highlighted growing bilateral.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during Putin’s official visit to Kazakhstan.

Tokayev congratulated Putin on the tenth anniversary of the signing of the bilateral Treaty on Good Neighborly and Alliance Relations, highlighting the immense "political and, one might say, historical significance" of Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan, rhetoric backed up by the record bilateral trade volume between the neighboring countries, Vedomosti writes

Tokayev stated that 143 joint Russian-Kazakh projects in the field of industrial cooperation worth $33 bln are now being carried out, 140 of which are located in Kazakhstan. According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan assesses the volume of direct Russian investment in the Kazakh economy at $20 bln, while Russia is expecting a level of $17-18 bln. Meanwhile, Kazakh investments in Russia total $6 bln.

Putin’s trip came just one week after French President Emmanuel Macron visited Kazakhstan. Macron’s visit was aimed at strengthening Paris’ cooperation with Astana in ensuring critical uranium supplies for France’s nuclear power sector, as well as diminishing Russia’s influence in the Central Asia region.

According to Andrey Grozin, head of the Central Asia Department at the Institute of CIS Countries, "Kazakhstan is trying to maintain the same tone in relations with both Europe and Russia, continuing its tradition of pursuing a multi-vector foreign policy [by] maneuvering between the major centers of power while extracting diverse dividends from the competition [among major powers for Kazakhstan’s favor]."

Speaking at the start of his talks with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Putin hailed “multi-faceted” ties between the countries and said they would determine new areas of “strategic” cooperation.

Oil-rich Kazakhstan and other Central Asian nations have maintained a delicate balancing act, preserving strong economic ties with Moscow but refusing to recognize its annexation of Ukrainian regions.

Speaking after the talks, Tokayev noted that Russia has been Kazakhstan's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching a record $27 billion last year. “We have large opportunities for further expansion of the trade volume,” he said.

Russian and Kazakh officials signed several agreements on energy, customs and labor issues.

Putin said the two countries set “really ambitious tasks for further strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership.”

The Russian leader has made few foreign trips since he sent troops into Ukraine in February 2022. The International Criminal Court’s move to indict Putin in March for alleged war crimes connected to the deportation of children from Ukraine has affected his travel as any country that is party to the court is obliged to arrest him on its soil. Kazakstan isn’t part of the agreement that created the tribunal.

Putin’s trip to Kazakhstan comes days after French President Emmanuel Macron visited Astana and hailed Tokayev for withstanding geopolitical “pressures," in a hint at Moscow's efforts to keep the neighbor in its orbit.

Relations with Kazakhstan and other former Soviet republics in Central Asia have become increasingly important for Russia as it has sought new import routes to bypass bruising Western sanctions over its actions in Ukraine.

Iran warns of ‘inevitable expansion’ of Israel-Gaza war

Hossein Amirabdollahian made the comments in a phone conversation with his Qatari counterpart [File: Mohamed Azakir/Reuters]

An expansion of the scope of the war in Gaza is “inevitable” due to Israel’s heightened aggression, according to Iran’s foreign minister.

Hossein Amirabdollahian made the statement in a phone conversation with Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Iran’s Press TV reported on Friday.

“Due to the expansion of the intensity of the war against Gaza’s civilian residents, expansion of the scope of the war has become inevitable,” Amirabdollahian said.

It is unclear what he meant by an “inevitable expansion” of the conflict.

Separately, Amirabdollahian said on his X account on Thursday: “Time is fast running out for Tel Aviv’s crimes to continue.”

“The only benefit of Netanyahu was that he made the foundations of the fake Israeli regime more shaky and showed the criminal, violent, and aggressive face of the Zionist regime in the massacre of women and children in Gaza,” he added.

“Undoubtedly, the future belongs to Palestine,” Amirabdollahian wrote

Regional tension and cross-border clashes have intensified since Hamas, the Iran-backed group that runs Gaza, attacked Israel on October 7, triggering Israel’s war on the enclave.

Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah armed group, which is allied to Hamas, have swapped attacks. More than 60 Hezbollah fighters and 10 civilians have been killed, Lebanese security officials say. The violence has also killed at least seven Israeli soldiers and one civilian.

The pauses would allow people to flee northern Gaza along two humanitarian corridors. (EPA PHOTO)

United States and coalition troops have been attacked at least 40 times in Iraq and Syria by Iran-backed forces as tensions soar over Israel’s bombardment. Forty-five US troops have been injured.

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement has also launched repeated missile and drone attacks on Israel since October 7, all of which were either shot down or fell short.

In a move viewed as a show of force to regional rivals, and especially Iran, the US announced last week that it has deployed a nuclear-capable submarine in the Middle East.
