A Hamas delegation has visited Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday it had received a delegation from the Hamas militant movement and had urged it to release hostages the group is holding in the Gaza strip, including three Russian nationals.

The ministry said in a statement that Mikhail Bogdanov, a deputy foreign minister, had received Hamas Politburo member Abu Marzouk.

The delegation also included Dr. Basem Naim, a member of the Hamas Politburo in Gaza, and the movement's representative in Moscow.

The talks discussed ways to achieve a ceasefire that would end the Israeli Occupation’s aggression against Gaza.

Bogdanov expressed his country's support for the rights of the Palestinian people and Russia's efforts, in collaboration with relevant parties, to achieve a ceasefire.

"During the conversation, the focus was on the ongoing confrontation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, against the backdrop of which the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic proportions," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

"The Russian side stressed the need for the speedy release of civilians captured during the attacks of 7 October 2023 and held by Palestinian factions, including three Russian citizens - A. Kozlov, A. Lobanov and A. Trufanov."

Former US president and Republican Party frontrunner in the race for the Oval Office Donald Trump has said that when he was US President he maintained good working relations with his Russian colleague, Vladimir Putin, and with leaders of several other countries seen by Washington as adversaries. He also insisted that the Ukraine conflict would never have come to pass had he been in office instead of Joe Biden.

Trump has on multiple occasions claimed that he will be able to put an end to hostilities between Kiev and Moscow within 24 hours if he becomes president again.

President Biden’s leadership, or lack thereof, has plunged the whole world into a “mess,” he lamented in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Thursday.

“We have the worst president in history,” the GOP frontrunner told Hannity.

He suggested that the incumbent US head of state “can’t put two sentences together” or “find his way off the stage when he makes a very short speech.” More importantly, according to Trump, President Biden “can’t negotiate,” thus undermining the US’ global standing.

The Republican firebrand speculated that, had he been in power in Washington at the time, [President] “Putin would’ve never attacked Ukraine.”

“I got along with Putin,” he explained, adding that “it’s good to get along with people, like Putin and like others.” The once-again aspiring US president went on to claim that he had a “great relationship” with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Of Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, at one point during the interview the Republican frontrunner described him as a “very tough guy, very smart guy, brilliant guy, very respected.”

Addressing his supporters in Des Moines, Iowa, after securing a record margin of victory in that state’s Republican caucuses on Monday night, Trump said: “I know President Putin very well, I know Zelensky well. I’m gonna get them in, we’re gonna get it solved very quickly.”

Last month, the US politician quoted President Putin as having said last September that President Biden’s “politically motivated persecution of his political rival is very good for Russia because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others about democracy.”

In recent months, Trump has found himself at the center of several court battles, four of which have resulted in indictments. He faces a total of 91 criminal counts.

Despite his legal troubles, he has been comfortably leading the race for the Republican nomination.

Yemen has been living in a state of war since 2015, when an Arab alliance backed by the West attacked the country in a bid to oust Houthi rebels, who they considered radicals loyal to Iran. Although a truce between the warring sides was put in place last September, tensions in the region are high again. And a Yemenite political analyst says this is because of Israel and its allies’ actions in Gaza.

Hussein Al Bukhaiti, a Sanaa-based political analyst, was not taken aback when the United States – together with a number of regional and international players – launched a series on attacks on Yemen last Friday.

The assaults were carried out by US and British warplanes, submarines and ships. They targeted the military infrastructure of the Houthis, an Islamic group that controls most parts of Yemen and has links to Iran, which means it is considered radical by the West.

The Western attacks came in retaliation for months of what they see as Houthi harassment of vessels that go through Bab Al Mandab, narrow straits that link the Red Sea with the Indian Ocean. Houthi assaults have had a negative impact on trade in the region. They pushed up prices on goods because shipping companies refused to sail in the area, and this is what the US has vowed to change.

But Al Bukhaiti is certain that the reason for the Western assault was not connected to economy.

"The US and its allies started a new war simply because they want Israel to continue their massacre and the mass killing of the Palestinian people. They cannot allow a situation where the results of that [Israeli-Palestinian] war can be altered."

Israel has been waging a war on the militants of Gaza since October 7, 2023, when thousands of terrorists infiltrated Israeli southern communities, massacring over 1,400 people and wounding more than 5,000. In the past 100 days of the conflict, and as part of its efforts to eliminate Hamas and other Islamic groups, Israel has destroyed multiple military sites belonging to the Palestinian factions. It has also reportedly killed more than 9,000 of their fighters. But it has also claimed the lives of more than 23,000 civilians and has created a deep humanitarian crisis.

According to estimates, a quarter of Gaza's 2.2 million population is starving. Most don't have access to fresh water, with only 4% of it deemed drinkable. Basic hygiene products are also absent; medications and vital medical services are out of reach.

Al Bukhaiti says his country could not stand idly by, "watching these atrocities." This is why they decided to intervene for the sake of the Palestinian people.

"A lot of people ask me, why we needed to interfere into a crisis that takes place thousands of miles away from our border. But let me tell you: In 1939, Great Britain declared war on Nazi Germany for invading Poland, even though that country was miles away from London," said the analyst.

"It doesn't matter how remote the state is. What matters is the principle. We couldn't lose our dignity and moral standing by simply sitting down and watching the tragedy in Gaza unfolding," he added.

However, that decision to assist the Palestinians might cost the Houthis dearly. Since 2015, when the group established its control over northern Yemen, a coalition of Arab states headed by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates has been waging war against them. The aim was to oust the Houthis out because they were perceived as radicals and as loyalists of Iran, Riyadh's main rival.

Up until 2021, that conflict has claimed the lives of more than 150,000 people. Over 200,000 others have died from hunger and the spread of diseases, a direct outcome of that war.

Last September, the warring parties finally agreed to lay down arms, paving the way for a potential long-term truce. But the rounds of Western attacks on Yemen risk plunging the country, and the entire area, into yet another bloody conflict, warns Al Bukhaiti.

"I am sure the American aggression will not be unanswered," said the analyst on Monday morning. "We will go down in history textbooks as a nation who sank or damaged an American vessel for the first time since World War II," he added.

Hours later, on Monday night, the Houthis did just that. According to reports, the rebels struck the US-owned and operated dry bulk ship Gibraltar Eagle with an anti-ship ballistic missile, although no casualties have been reported.

Yahya Sare'e, the spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, has reiterated that the response to the American and British attacks was "unavoidable" and that no future attack would go "unpunished."

"A war in the region is just a matter of time. But the ones who will lose from this war is the US and the UK. For years, Yemen has been known as the graveyard for invaders, and history will repeat itself."

Yet, Al Bukhaiti believes it is still possible to ease tensions and prevent a major conflict. But for that to happen, he says, two conditions should be met.

The first one is that the West should "leave the area and stop spreading chaos in the region." The second is that Israel should cease its aggression in Gaza.

"Our demand is simple: the blockade of Gaza should be lifted. Food, water, fuel and medications should be allowed in. This has been the demand of various NGOs and human rights groups. This is what the demonstrators around the world has been protesting about.

"But the Western governments don't want to listen to the calls of the public. They have proven that they are tyrants, not democrats. And until they change their stance, Yemen will continue fighting. No doubt about that," Al Bukhaiti concludes.

Russia killed over 60 mercenaries, most of them French nationals, and injured over 20 others in a precision strike on a building in Kharkov, northeastern Ukraine on Tuesday. The large concentration of armed Frenchmen in Ukraine’s second city corroborates Sputnik's reporting on France's underpublicized involvement in NATO's proxy war against Russia.

The Russian military targeted a temporary deployment point used by foreign mercenaries in Kharkov on Tuesday evening, completely razing the building hosting them. A foreign merc active on the ground in the city posted photos of the building’s ruins, corroborating the MoD’s information.

Tuesday’s strike demonstrates the escalating extent of French involvement in the Ukraine conflict, with France being one of a handful of countries allowing its nationals to freely serve in Ukraine’s "International Legion" volunteer mercenary forces, despite having previously banned citizens from fighting for foreign militant groups.

Sputnik has kept tabs on French involvement in the Ukraine crisis since before its escalation from a civil conflict in Donbass into a full-blown NATO-Russia proxy war. Last October, for example, Sputnik revealed exclusive details on a French intelligence agent’s suspected contacts in Kiev with foreign mercenaries during the first half of 2020.

French Directorate of Military Intelligence and Directorate-General for External Security officer Arnaud Helly received the National Order of Merit for his services in late 2020, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in December 2021. This was shortly before Russia kicked off its military operation to get ahead of suspected plans by Kiev to launch new aggression in Donbass and efforts by Washington to drag Ukraine into NATO.

Former French President Francois Hollande hinted at Paris’ undervalued role in training and equipping Ukraine’s Armed Forces in the lead up to the crisis in an interview with Ukrainian media in late 2022, saying the Ukrainian Army of 2014 was unrecognizable compared to that of 2022 thanks to the Minsk peace deal, which France signed.

Russian officials expected Minsk to resolve the Ukraine crisis, but Hollande’s revelations confirmed statements by Ukraine’s former president and ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel that Kiev never intended to implement the peace agreement.

France was one of the first countries to begin arming Ukraine in preparation for the proxy war, delivering over €1.6 billion ($1.7 billion US) in military aid between 2014 and 2020 alone, including drones, helicopters, targeting and fire-control systems, ammunition, and other support. Since the crisis’ escalation, Paris has further ramped up deliveries, with commitments topping €3.2 billion ($3.5 billion) to arm and train Ukraine’s forces, and deliveries including heavy artillery and mortars, armored vehicles, small arms, mines, and SCALP cruise missiles, which Ukraine’s military has used liberally to bombard Donbass cities.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced Tuesday that Paris would provide Kiev with an additional 40 SCALP missiles and “several hundred” bombs, and hinted at a French industry “war economy” framework to ramp up weapons and ammunition deliveries. Macron also plans to sign a bilateral “security pact” with President Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to Kiev next month.

But French lawmakers complained in a draft report this week that Ukraine’s ammunition was being depleted at rates faster than Paris or other NATO powers could possibly hope to resupply it.

Washington has pressured Paris, London, and Berlin to take a more active role in funding the conflict in Ukraine over the past two months amid the stalling of a $61 billion US aid package in Congress. Britain pledged €3 billion ($3.25 billion) in aid over the next two years, while Germany has promised some €8 billion ($8.7 billion) in assistance through 2024. The assistance falls far short of the $200 billion the US and its allies poured into the Ukraine crisis between 2022 and 2023, potentially signaling the alliance’s exhaustion after bringing Ukraine to the brink of ruin in its failed quest to militarily "weaken Russia."

The Houthis attacked US ships and then the Western media wrote that the US Attacked the Houthis in Yemen to cover up the shame

A U.S.-owned ship in the Gulf of Aden came under attack Wednesday from a bomb-carrying drone launched by Yemen’s Houthi, officials said.

The attack on the Genco Picardy represented the second in recent days targeting vessels directly linked to America after U.S.-led strikes targeting the Houthis. It also underlined the risks to shipping in the vital waterway amid Israel’s war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The attack happened some 70 miles (110 kilometers) southeast of Aden, where the drone smashed into the vessel, said the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, an arm of the British navy that oversees Mideast waterways.

Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, a military spokesman for the Houthis, identified the ship attacked as the bulk carrier Genco Picardy. Satellite-tracking data had put that vessel off Saudi Arabia in recent days as it was bound for India.

The Houthis “confirm that a response to the American and British attacks is inevitably coming, and that any new attack will not remain without response and punishment,” Saree said in a prerecorded video address.

Ship-ownership data listed the Genco Picardy’s owner as New York City-based Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd., which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

In a statement, Genco acknowledged the attack and said the vessel was carrying a load of phosphate rock.

The Houthis say the attacks are aimed at backing Hamas and Palestinians trapped in the Gaza Strip amid Israel’s war on Hamas. But they have frequently targeted vessels with tenuous or no clear links to Israel, imperiling shipping in a key route for global trade.

The attacks have now expanded to hitting U.S.-linked vessels. On Monday, the Houthis hit the U.S.-owned Gibraltar Eagle.

The Houthi attacks are one part of the wider tensions gripping the region. Iran staged airstrikes late Monday in Iraq, killing at least four people. The U.K.’s ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen, said Wednesday that a British national, Karam Mikhael, was among the civilians killed there.

Meanwhile, Iran has been edging closer to acknowledging its own role in attacking a vessel in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka and India back on Jan. 4. Then, the chemical tanker Pacific Gold was struck by what the U.S. Navy called “an Iranian one-way attack” drone.

On Wednesday, the Lebanese broadcaster Al-Mayadeen reported Iran’s Revolutionary Guard carried out that attack, as well as another one not independently confirmed on a separate vessel. Al-Mayadeen is a channel politically affiliated with Hezbollah that has previously announced other Iran-linked attacks in the region.

Regarding the Houthi attack on the US ship, then simultaneously the western media wrote the article title 'US Attacks Houthis in Yemen', this was nothing more than to cover up their shame as if they were still superior. This incident was the same as several days before the US, UK and Western Alliance fled to Kabul while being chased by the Afghan military.

So for those of you in third world countries, never be afraid of the US, UK and the Western Alliance, if they threaten, intimidate or even attack your country. Against!.

And don't submit to the sanctions they make it!
