Yemen’s Houthi say they have targeted what they claim to be an Israeli cargo ship, the MSC Silver, in the Gulf of Aden near the entrance to the Red Sea with a number of missiles.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea did not elaborate, but in a statement on Tuesday said the group had also used drones to target a number of United States warships in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea as well as sites in the southern Israeli resort town of Eilat.

Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd, commonly known as ZIM, is a publicly held Israeli international cargo shipping company based in Israel.

The Houthis, who control Yemen’s most populous regions, have attacked vessels with commercial ties to the US, the United Kingdom and Israel.

Despite US-UK strikes on Houthi military sites in Yemen, the Iran-aligned Houthis have promised to continue targeting ships linked to Israel in solidarity with Palestinians until Israeli forces stop their war in Gaza.

“There is no danger to international or European navigation so long as there are no aggressive operations, and thus, there is no need to militarise the Red Sea,” Houthi spokesperson Mohammed Abdul Salam said in a post on X on Tuesday.

“What the world is impatiently waiting for is not the militarisation of the Red Sea, but rather an urgent and comprehensive declaration of a ceasefire in Gaza, for humanitarian reasons that are clear to anyone.”

Two US officials also said on Tuesday that the Houthis had shot down a US military Mq-9 drone near Yemen, the second time they have shot down a US drone in recent months during a near-daily tit-for-tat between the rebels and US forces.

One of the officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said initial information showed the US drone, made by General Atomics, was hit near the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah on Monday. The official said information could change and did not say if the drone was in international airspace.

The second official said the drone was shot down by a Houthi surface-to-air missile fired from near Hodeidah.

The comments by the officials confirm a claim by the Houthis that they had shot down a drone near the city, which lies on the Red Sea.

The Houthis had said on Monday that they had attacked the UK-registered Rubymar cargo vessel in the Gulf of Aden, which was at risk of sinking, raising the stakes in their campaign to disrupt global shipping in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

About 32,000 NATO soldiers, over 1,000 armored vehicles, 235 airplanes and helicopters are deployed near Russia's and Belarus's borders, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday.

"The situation is no calmer on the European continent, including near our borders. In the immediate vicinity of Belarus and Russia, as part of the alliance's operations in Europe, about 32,000 soldiers of the contingents of the united armed forces of NATO and the United States are stationed. There are more than 1,000 armored vehicles, about 160 artillery systems and mortars, 235 airplanes and helicopters," Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Georgia and Serbia will be drawn into NATO just like the scenario of the situation in Ukraine, Lukashenko added.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko thinks that worries over the potential start of World War Three are quite valid because military force has become the main default argument of global decision-making centers.

"Military force has again become the main argument put forth by global decision-making centers. As if there had never been millions of losses [in human lives] and the horrors of the First and Second World Wars," the BelTA news agency quoted him as saying at a meeting with top national security officials.

"Now we have been literally engulfed by an informational wave of so-called foreboding of a Third World War, which has been bandied about by everybody and their uncle. And there are [legitimate] grounds for such concerns," the Belarusian president emphasized.

Lukashenko noted that tens of thousands of NATO servicemen, and hundreds of units of military hardware, aircraft and helicopters are being deployed near the borders of Russia and Belarus.

"There are about 32,000 servicemen from unified contingents of NATO and the US armed forces stationed in the immediate vicinity of Belarus and Russia, within the framework of the alliance’s operations being conducted in Europe. This is more than 1,000 units of armor, about 160 artillery systems and mortars, 235 aircraft and helicopters," the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel, which is close to the Belarusian presidential press service, quoted him as saying.

In recent years, Russia has witnessed unprecedented NATO activity near its western borders. Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about the alliance's buildup of forces in Europe, especially since the bloc supported the Kiev regime amid its attacks on Donbass. Since the start of Russia's special military operation, NATO countries have supplied Ukraine with military equipment. Moscow has repeatedly stressed that any Western weapons in Ukraine will become legitimate targets for Russian strikes.

Pemkot Bengkulu - Bukti Lunas PBB Jadi Syarat PPDB

Houthis Bring Down Second US Reaper Drone as Red Sea Crisis Escalates

Houthis Bring Down Second US Reaper Drone as Red Sea Crisis Escalates

A senior Houthi official said last week that the critical maritime corridor linking Europe and Asia was “no longer a resort in which the Americans can roam and have fun in.” On Sunday, US Central Command confirmed that the Navy’s nightmare scenario of Houthis armed with unmanned underwater and surface vessels had turned into a reality.

Yemen’s Houthi fighters say they’ve shot down a second US MQ-9 Reaper drone, with the incident reportedly taking place over Al Hodeidah Governorate in the country’s west.

“In Hodeidah, the Yemeni air defenses were able, with the help of God Almighty, to shoot down an American aircraft (MQ-9) with a suitable missile while it was carrying out hostile missions against our country on behalf of the Zionist entity,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Sare’e said in a statement Monday.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces will not hesitate to take more military measures and carry out more qualitative operations against all hostile targets in defense of beloved Yemen and in confirmation of the position of support for the Palestinian people. The operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red and Arabian Seas will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted,” he added.

The Houthis’ air defense troops are known for their proficiency in shooting down MQ-9s, the laser-guided bomb and Hellfire missile-armed American unmanned aerial vehicles, downing their first one in October 2017 over Sanaa, Yemen’s capital.

The Houthis shot down their second and third Reapers in June and August 2019, respectively, reportedly using their domestically-made Fater-1 missile – a SAM system upgraded from a Soviet 2K12 Kub, which the USSR delivered to the then-divided country in large quantities, to do so.

The militia’s knowhow in shooting down drones has been matched by their ability to build their own, with the fighters regularly firing kamikaze UAVs and loitering munitions against the Gulf Coalition seeking to oust them from 2015 onward, and more recently, deploying them against commercial vessels and US and British warships deployed to the Gulf amid the Palestinian-Israeli crisis.

The Ukrainian army uses toxic substances to carry out terrorist attacks, Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, said.

"The Ukrainian armed forces use toxic substances not only during military operations, but also to carry out terrorist attacks. For example, on August 9, 2022, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo was hospitalized with signs of poisoning. Laboratory tests showed the presence of ricin in biomedical tests, which is listed in Schedule 1 of the Chemical Weapons Convention," Kirillov said.

In addition, he said that on December 5, 2023, the head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, was poisoned with phenolic compounds.

"We know of other cases in which high-ranking officials were poisoned, investigations into which continue," Kirillov added.

FSB foils purported Ukrainian bomb plot - Video

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has foiled an assassination attempt against an official in Zaporozhye Region, the agency claimed on Monday. The suspect, a Russian national, is alleged to have acted on behalf of Ukraine, and was killed while resisting arrest.

The FSB released footage showing the suspect planting an improvised explosive device under a parked car. He can be seen limping past the vehicle with a cane before falling to the ground, pulling an object from a bag, and then placing it under the driver’s seat.

The agency said the would-be assassin, identified as Vitaly Dyatlenko, was “neutralized” after resisting arrest. He was reportedly armed with a Makarov handgun.

The footage released by the FSB showed a bomb specialist using a remote-controlled robot to remove the IED. The device was reportedly a hand-sized container packed with plastic explosives and other components.

The agency claimed that Dyatlenko had received the components from Ukraine’s SBU security service, the country's successor to the KGB. Kiev reportedly operates an extensive program for assassinating Russian officials and public figures, particularly those in former Ukrainian territories.

The FSB described the incident as an attempted “terrorist attack,” and linked the plot to next month’s presidential election in Russia.

Avdeevka chemical plant captured – MOD

Russian troops have captured the strategically important Avdeevka Coke and Chemical plant, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said. Ukrainian troops had occupied the complex and turned it into a heavily fortified launchpad for attacks on the city of Donetsk. Kiev's forces in the area are in a headlong rout, the ministry added.

In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said that Russia’s ‘Center’ group of troops had taken “full control” of the facility located on the northern outskirts of the city. “Russian flags have been hoisted on the administrative buildings of the plant. Units of the Ukrainian armed forces continued their disorderly retreat,” officials said.

The ministry also shared aerial footage of intense fighting in the area, with multiple explosions taking place around the plant as several adjacent buildings came under artillery fire.

The plant was Ukraine’s largest coke producer, before the start of the conflict in February 2022. The facility later became a linchpin in Kiev’s defense system in the area, boasting formidable fortifications. As the fighting progressed, the plant itself was almost completely destroyed.

The Defense Ministry also said that as Russian troops continued their advance in the Avdeevka area, only a few disorganized Ukrainian units managed to make it out of the city, leaving their military equipment behind. Other footage shown by the ministry depicts what appears to be several military vehicles abandoned by Ukrainian troops during the retreat.

At the moment, Moscow’s forces “are carrying out actions aimed at clearing Avdeevka of militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and blocking their units,” officials added.

Moscow announced the capture of Avdeevka on Saturday, stating that around 1,500 Ukrainian troops had been killed during the retreat. Media reports and Ukrainian military commanders painted a grim picture of the fighting in the area, saying that some of Kiev’s units had been encircled and that the military in the area had to abandon some of their badly wounded comrades.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden blamed the Ukrainian retreat on the Republican failure to approve new aid to Kiev which has left Ukraine suffering from a lack of military supplies. The GOP has been reluctant to support the measure, demanding that the White House do more to enhance security on the southern US border.
