Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has slammed the armed mutiny of the PMC Wagner as betrayal and said that Chechen commandos are on the way to the areas of tensions.
"What is happening is not an ultimatum to the Ministry of Defense," he wrote on his Telegram channel. "It is a challenge to the state. To counter this challenge, it is necessary for the military, security forces, governors and the civilian population to rally all around the national leader. Soldiers of the Ministry of Defense and Chechnya’s units of the National Guard (Rosgvardiya) have already left for the areas of tensions. We will do everything to preserve the unity of Russia and to protect its statehood!" Kadyrov wrote.
He is certain Russian President Vladimir Putin takes decisions "in a balanced and scrupulous manner."
"Each of us sees only one part of the map, but he sees it all! The president noted quite correctly in his address to the nation - this is a military mutiny! There is no excuse for such actions! I fully support Putin’s every word," Kadyrov said.
He urged the servicemen of the North Caucasus Military District not to yield to provocations.
"Whatever aims some may declare and whatever promises some may give - at a time like this the security of the state and unity of Russian society is above all! Look at how our enemies in the West are taking advantage of this situation. How many insinuations, how many lies, how many false appeals that frighten our citizens and create the danger of a destabilizing situation are being used. These are the expected consequences of Prigozhin's treacherous march," Kadyrov wrote.
He reiterated that the current events were a challenge to the state. "It is necessary for the military, security forces, governors and the civilian population to rally around the national leader," he stressed.
Medvedev’s secretariat refutes reports on his ‘evacuation’
The Secretariat of Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev refuted reports that the politician has allegedly left the Moscow Region.
Earlier such allegations were circulated in social networks.
"The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, his aides and Secretariat are at their workplaces and performing their duties," Medvedev’s aide Oleg Osipov told reporters.

Tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other military hardware have been filmed on the move in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, according to multiple unverified videos posted on social media.
The extraordinary footage comes after Moscow accused Evgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group private military company (PMC), of staging an attempt at an armed insurrection.
One clip released on Saturday morning appears to show two tanks parked in a crossroads while being flanked by several infantrymen. A military truck and armored combat vehicle are seen in the distance. The video was purportedly filmed near the HQ of Russia’s Southern Military District.
Another clip features a column led by a Russian main battle tank and an armored personnel carrier, with several other armored vehicles and pickups loaded with military equipment following behind.
Everything is calm at the headquarters of the Southern Military District at this moment, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Eyewitnesses told a RIA Novosti correspondent that they had previously heard several shots in the air nearby and, possibly, the sound of an explosive package.

Putin signed a law on the possibility of conscripted conscripts to serve under a contract, with the exception of those who have committed serious crimes.
The law also provides that limited fit citizens will be able to enter into contracts with the Armed Forces during the period of mobilization and wartime.
The State Duma and the Federation Council alternately approved this law last week.

The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement addressed to the private military company (PMC) Wagner on Saturday, saying that they were deceived into the criminal venture of the PMC's head, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The ministry also called on the PMC members to be reasonable and to contact its representatives or law enforcement officials and promised to guarantee their security.
